Steven Kokinos, President & CEO

Steven is responsible for the strategic direction and management of Thinking Phone Networks. Under his leadership, the company is transforming the way enterprises view communications as a key driver of business visibility and results.

Previously, Steven was a founder of BladeLogic, Inc (www.bladelogic.com), a recognized leader in the data center automation market with a Fortune 500 client list that includes GE, Time Warner, Microsoft, Cable & Wireless, Walmart, and Sprint, among others.

Prior to BladeLogic, Steven was founder, president, and CEO of WebYes, Inc., an early market leader in the web hosting and application service provider arena. WebYes provided the electronic software distribution platform for all of Sun Microsystems software products including Java and was acquired by Breakaway Solutions in 1999. At Breakaway, Steven established and ran the company's ASP business. He played a critical role in driving the business to $120M in revenue and taking the company public, and in just 18 months was responsible for Breakaway's #2 worldwide ASP industry ranking.

Steven holds a BA from McGill University.

 

Derek Yoo, Chief Technology Officer

Derek is co-founder of Thinking Phone Networks and responsible for the strategic vision, development, execution, and ongoing operation of Thinking Phone Networks’ innovative hosted communications platform and business applications suite.

Previously, Derek served as product manager at BladeLogic, the industry-leading provider of enterprise data center automation and server configuration management software. At BladeLogic, Derek drove initial conception and specification, development, and ultimate release and widespread adoption of BladeLogic's entire portfolio of enterprise systems management products. Key capabilities of the market-leading BladeLogic Operations Manager platform included a bare metal OS provisioning system, an application provisioning and software distribution system, a server configuration management system, an ad-hoc systems administration platform, and an enterprise reporting system.

Prior to BladeLogic, Derek was development and operations manager with WebYes, and later Breakaway Solutions, where he managed hosted applications deployed across 11 data centers on four continents.

Derek holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Mike Liddell, Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Mike Liddell is responsible for Thinking Phone Networks’ overall sales, marketing, and strategic product direction.

A senior executive in several highly-successful companies in the software and semiconductor industries, Mike was previously president and CEO of Mobitrac, Inc, a leading transportation industry software as a service (SaaS) company with customers that included FedEx and DHL. Initially funded by U.S. Venture Partners with follow-on investment by Frazier Technology, Illinois Ventures and IFA, Mobitrac was sold to Descartes Systems Group.

Prior to Mobitrac, Mike served as COO of AccelChip, Inc, an electronic design automation software (EDA) company serving the semiconductor industry. In this position, he was responsible for all business development, legal, sales and partnership activities. Mike also led the Series A financing round while Entrepreneur in Residence at Arch Development Partners and finalized Series B investment by Greylock and Interwest, with follow-on from Xilinx, Inc. and Arch Development Partners. AccelChip was acquired by Xilinx, Inc.

In addition, Mike has an extensive investment background, including co-founding NetFuel Ventures, a premier seed-stage venture capital company. At NetFuel, he led successful investments into several early stage technology companies in the Chicago area, including Mobitrac, AccelChip and Adeptia. NetFuel Ventures was merged into the Arch Development Fund portfolio in 2000.

Mike holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Michigan State University.

 

Carl Moore, Vice President, Business Development

Carl drives all of Thinking Phone Networks’ business development efforts with a focus on channel partner development and revenue generation.

With 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry, Carl has a demonstrated track record of building highly-productive sales organizations. Previously, he held senior sales management positions at CTC Communications, ESP, and Broadview Networks.

At CTC Communications, Carl pioneered a major RBOC account management program and later directed senior Northeast region enterprise sales teams. As vice president of sales at ESP, he launched a successful 45 distributor agency program to market the MyLine PCX single number calling service. At Broadview Networks, he established and drove the company’s New England sales efforts.

Carl is a frequent speaker on sales and telecommunications technology topics. He has appeared at leading trade shows and symposia including ACTA, Comptel, NETA, Phone+, AHMA, Northern Telecom and Cisco Seminars.

Carl holds a BA from Northeastern University

 

David Powers, Vice President, Marketing

David is responsible for Thinking Phone Networks’ strategic and tactical marketing efforts.

Previously, he was vice president of communications at hosted PBX provider Grasshopper/GotVMail and served as the primary company evangelist, advocate and ambassador to a range of SMB constituencies. His efforts helped drive customer acquisition from 1,200 subscribers to more than 75,000. In 2007, Grasshopper/GotVMail was ranked #66 on the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing private companies in the country.

David’s marketing background also includes executive positions at two telecommunications start-ups, Level 3 Communications and XCOM Technologies. Prior to that, he spent four years driving domestic and international public relations and thought leadership for high-speed modem vendor Microcom, Inc. prior to its acquisition by Compaq.

An honors graduate of the University of Missouri, he studied in the prestigious School of Journalism and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
